Kenly- Hazel Florence Ferrell Hodge, age 93, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2020, in Springbrook Nursing and Rehab in Clayton. Born May 2,1927, she was a daughter of the late William T. and Essie Florence Ferrell in Johnston County. She is preceded in death by her husband Wilbert Odell Hodge; brothers, David Ferrell and T.A. Ferrell.  Mrs. Hazel was a member at New Jerusalem Church in Kenly for 20 years, she was known for her green thumb, sewing, cooking, but above all she was a good Christian lady. Every year she read her Bible all the way through and she loved to read books but she loved her family the most.

Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma on Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at 1:00 P.M. with the burial to follow in Creech's Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Family and friends will be able to pay their respects on Wednesday morning starting at 8:00 A.M., however the family will not be present during that time.

She is survived by her son, Thomas Hodge of Smithfield, daughters; Gail Creech and husband Tommy of Kenly, Edna Bunn and husband Mike of Kenly, Teresa Parks and husband Neil of Garner; brother, Bobby Ferrell of New Port News, VA; sisters, Faye Pate of Micro, Joyce Hodge of Kenly, and Ruby Pearce of Raleigh; grandchildren, Crystal Allen and husband Andy, Karen Wall and husband Ryan, Tony Creech and wife Rhonda, Melissa Creech Narron, Phillip Bunn and wife Jamie, Zachary Parks and Jared Parks and wife Erin; great grandchildren, Drake Benson, Blake Wall, Lauren Wall, Avery Allen, Garrison Creech, Trenton Creech, Haley Bunn, Ashley Bunn, Abby Narron, Colton Narron, Tucker Narron, and Chase Narron, and many church family and friends.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her memory to New Jerusalem Church at 1416 Jerusalem Church Rd. Kenly, NC 27542.
