Harvey Thomas Williams, age 78, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Kitty Askins Hospice House in Goldsboro, North Carolina.

Born on March 31, 1947, Harvey was the son of the late Daniel and Barbara Williams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Floyd Williams, Danny Ray Williams, Barry Williams, Roland Williams, and Ronald Williams.

Harvey dedicated 23½ years of his life to working as a coal miner. He was a devoted fan of the Cincinnati Reds and the West Virginia Mountaineers and enjoyed following his favorite teams. Harvey will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Selma Memorial Gardens.

Harvey is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nancy Williams; his son, Thomas Williams and wife Jennifer; his daughter, Tammy Quinn and husband Douglas; his grandsons, Shawn Williams and wife Alexa, and Thomas "Jamie" Quinn; his great-grandson, Levy; a special cousin who was like a brother, Edwin Massey; and his beloved grand dog, Harvey.
