Princeton – Gerard Whitfield Tart Sr., age 75, passed away into eternity on Wednesday December 25, 2024 at the SECU Hospice House of Smithfield. He was born in Harnett County on April 14, 1949 to the late James Braddie Tart and Josephine Lee Tart. In addition to his father and mother, he is also preceded in death by three brothers, Willie, Layton, and Lonnie Tart.

The family will receive visitors at Parrish Funeral Home on Saturday December 28, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A funeral service will follow in the chapel on Saturday at 2:00 PM. Burial will be held in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Goldsboro directly after the service.

Gerard is survived by his significant other of 28 years, Geneva Hartley Turner; son, Gerard Tart Jr., and wife Shannon of TN; daughters, Alicia Galloway of Asheville, Erica Fasciana and husband Nick of FL; ; sister, Amelda Johnson; grandchildren, Erik, Gage, Tye, Logan, Liam and Taya; great grandchild Erik.

Mr. Tart attended the Johnston Community Church of God of Prophecy in Selma and loved his church family. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt. He will be remembered fondly for the time he spent with his family and their love.
