Freddie Ray Davis, age 57, of Smithfield, passed away on March 27, 2017.  Born in Johnston County on August 15, 1959, he was the son of Ed and Doris Taylor Davis of Pine Level.  Freddie was a lifetime hunter, fisherman and jokester.  He attended Anchored in Christ Church near Fremont.

The family will receive friends at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma Thursday beginning at 5:30 PM followed by a funeral service at 7:00 PM.  Committal will be on Friday at 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel due to the weather.

Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his wife, Cynthia "Cindy" Johnson Davis; sons Lance Davis and wife Jessica of Clayton, Hunter Davis of Princeton and Andrew Holland of the home; daughter Jessica Kelley of Rocky Mount; brother Eddie Davis of Pine Level; sisters Paula Davis of Pine Level and Amy Wells of Pikeville; and grandchildren Ava Davis, Savannah Kelley and Bentley Ray Kelley.
