Selma – Frank Stewart, Jr. "Sonny," 89, passed away September 15, 2024, at home. Born May 16, 1935, in Johnston County, he was a son of the late William Franklin and Katie Stewart. He was preceded in death by brothers, Al Stewart and Johnny Stewart; sisters, Bernice Wadsworth and Jean Moore.

Frank was a golf pro at Cardinal Country Club. He served in the US Army and was stationed in Korea. Frank was a jack of all trades and could do anything. He was loved by his family and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel at Parrish Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Selma Memorial Gardens.

Frank is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mable Huffman Stewart; sons, Jimmy Ray Stewart (Sissy) of Scotland Neck, Ricky Stewart (Sherry) of Selma; daughter, Linda Acres (Ken) of Kenly; sisters, Dorothy Godwin of Selma and Joyce Strickland (Bill) of Selma; grandchildren, Tabitha Pate (David), Samantha Jackson (Maurice), Adam Johnson (Molly), Chassidy Zmijewski (Billy), Britney Newcomb (Austin), Jimmy Ray Stewart, Jr. (Kristen), Austin Stewart; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
