Faye Stewart Stephenson died peacefully at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, North Carolina on July 3, 2020.

Faye is survived by her husband of 38 years, Edward Stephenson; daughter, Kellie (Greg) Smith, of Raleigh, NC; son, Will (Katie) Stephenson of Smithfield, NC; brother, Ralph Stewart, Jr of Four Oaks, NC; sister, Jan Hodges of Raleigh, NC; brother, Reid Stewart of Four Oaks, NC; and the lights of her life, her grandchildren, Kinslie Faye Smith, Gibson Smith and Thomas Stephenson.

She is preceded in death by her father, Ralph Lee Stewart, Sr and mother, Vera Holland Stewart.

Faye was born April 9, 1955 to Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Lee Stewart, Sr.  She graduated from Campbell University in 1976 with a degree in education.  From there, she commenced her career as an educator at many different grade levels, culminating with her feeding her true passion in special education.  Her students and teaching family were a very important facet of her life.

Faye and her husband, Edward, had two children, Kellie and Will, who were her most treasured creations.  Faye's happiest moments were when she was with her children and grandchildren.  She poured her love and spirit into her family.

The family will receive friends on the evening of Monday, July 6, 2020 from 5:30pm-7:30pm at Parrish Funeral Home. In light of current COVID-19 concerns, the family respectfully requests that you honor the social distancing and mask policies when visiting.

A private graveside service will be held Tuesday, July 7, 2020.
