Smithfield – Evelyn Hobbs George, age 86, passed away December 2, 2024, at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Born, October 6, 1938, in Clayton, NC, she was a daughter of the late William and Annie Hobbs. Evelyn enjoyed setting up and selling items for yard sales. She was a member at Mount Zion Church of Deliverance. She loved to read and sew. She worked at K-Mart as a sales associate for many years.

A funeral service will be held on December 14, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at Parrish Funeral Home.

Evelyn is survived by her husband, Horace George; daughters, Rochelle George, Sheila Kornegay, and Phyllis Price; grandchildren, David Price, Jr., Antoin Kornegay, Chris Price, Mariah Kornegay, Brianna Kornegay, and Brandon Price; and 4 great-grandchildren.
