Eva Pollard Massey, age 78, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2023 in UNC Johnston Health in Smithfield. Born June 15, 1945 in Johnston County she was a daughter of the late Ransom and Sadie Radford Pollard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter "Ray" Massey; brothers, Bill Pollard and Robert Pollard; and sisters, Margaret Holland and Julia Jackson. Eva worked at Goldtex in Goldsboro for many years. She later went to work for JCI working with clients and then worked at Piggly Wiggly until her retirement.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 5, 2023  in Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Friday evening August 4, 2023  at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma.

Surviving are her sons, Scott Massey, Kevin Massey and wife Penny and Jason Massey and wife Amanda;  grandchildren, Lindsey, Amber and Sommer Massey, Madison (Joseph Hatcher, III), Ashton and Taylor Kate Massey, Samuel, Jacob (Hannah), Alexander, Isaac and Mariella Massey; and dear friend, Tom Pilkington.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Eva's dear friend, Tom Pilkington, for all of his help and support in caring for Eva for many years.
