Elton Young Evans, age 84, passed away Friday, June 23, 2023 at his home. Born October 15, 1938 in Johnston County he was a son of the late Jessy C. and Lois Hines Evans. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Joann  Evans; and brother, Ray Evans. Elton proudly served his country with over 33 years of military service, including a tour in Vietnam. He served in the U.S. Air Force and retired from U.S. Army. Elton was a member of Tee's Chapel FWB Church and the Masonic Lodge #617.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2023 in Tee's Chapel Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. Burial will follow with Military honors in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Wednesday just prior to the service at the church.

Surviving are his sons, Dennis Evans and wife Jeannie, Kenneth Evans and wife Tammy, Michael Evans, Brian Evans and wife Heather and Michael Evans; daughters, Ginger Feldpausch and husband Dale and Kelly Benson; sister, Jean Jones; thirteen grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Elton's caregiver, Virginia Norman, for the loving care she provided to him over the last few years.
