With heavy hearts, we share the news of the passing of our beloved, Darrell Langston. He left this world on June 15, 2026, leaving behind a void that can never be filled. His departure has left us with a deep sense of loss and sadness that are hard to overcome.

Darrell was born on August 27, 1941, in Smithfield, NC. He lived a life filled with passion, so much purpose, and unwavering determination in all things he did. He embraced every challenge with grace and faced adversity with unwavering strength. Throughout his journey, he touched the lives of countless people with his heartfelt kindness, wisdom, and infectious laughter and sense of humor. His kindness and humble nature attracted everyone everywhere he went.

He was a devoted and passionate father and was a real family man. Darrell nurtured a loving and close-knit family. He was the cherished husband of 48 wonderful years to Annette Langston, they shared memories and a bond that most people only dream of. Together, they created a beautiful legacy of love and devotion and created a precious family. Their children, oldest son, Joe Mitchell, daughter, Sandy Lassiter, and youngest son, Jay Mitchell, are what gave him reason and purpose in life. Darrell also had 8 grandchildren who were his pride and joy. His warm presence and unconditional love will forever be missed.

Darrell was a true trailblazer, leaving an indelible mark on the world. He pursued a successful career in business and sales, where his talent dedication, and innovative spirit led to numerous accomplishments. Afterwards, he retired and spent all of his time devoted to family and is home life. His legacy will continue to inspire future generations to reach for the stars.

In remembering Darrell, we honor the vibrant spirit that radiated from within him. He had an insatiable curiosity and a zest for life that was contagious. He liked to fish, travel, but most of all had a strong passion for the upkeep and landscape of his yard and land. He somehow always had the ability to make everyone feel valued, heard, and important in some way. He always had a remarkable way of brightening the bad times even on the darkest of days. He will always be deeply missed and remembered by his family and friends. Most importantly, he has forever made his mark on the lives of his family. We were truly blessed to have a husband and father as loving as you…. WE LOVE YOU, PA!!
