SMITHFIELD – Eleanor Ray Taylor, age 91, died Wednesday morning at her home.  Born July 12, 1927 in Cumberland County to the late Troy Dixon and Myrtle Harris Taylor, she was preceded in death by her husband Herbert Lee Taylor on April 2, 1987 and her daughter Denise Leigh Taylor on April 25, 2005.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 8, 2019 in Sunset Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 9:30 – 10:30 am Monday at the funeral home.

Surviving are her son, Herbert Lee Taylor, Jr. and wife Dr. Karen Taylor of Holly Springs; daughters, Stephanie Taylor Underwood of Hope Mills and Teresa A. Taylor of Smithfield; sister, Myrtle Page of Raleigh; five grandchildren, Robert Ray Underwood, Brandi Underwood, Robert Glenn Davis, III, Brittany Taylor Davis and Christopher Lee Taylor and two great-grandchildren, Ethan Underwood and Kendall Underwood.
