Edwin Pritchard Jackson, 57, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2026. Born the second son to the late Jasper and Anna Jackson, he grew up as a country boy working on the family farm in Sampson County. After graduating from high school, he decided to venture into the corporate world and started a successful career at Caterpillar 33 years ago. During his tenure he held many positions, most recently as the Facility Manager for the Caterpillar Fluid Transfer Products plant in Menominee, MI.

Always active in his community, he previously served as the Plain View Fire Department Chief in Sampson County and chair of the Clayton Chamber of Commerce in Johnston County. In these positions, Ed strived to promote programs and incentives designed to improve the areas his family lived and worked.

Ed enjoyed traveling the world, duck hunting, and ice fishing- but without a doubt, his greatest love was his family. His wife, Tonya and his daughter, Katie centered every facet of his life and remain the focus of his lasting legacy. A husband, father, brother, mentor, and friend, Big Ed never met a stranger. He always had time to talk and joke with anyone he ever met. His ability to create and foster relationships stands as his greatest skill. Ed possessed a rare and generous talent that inspired the people around him to endeavor to be better; a true God-given gift bestowed only to a previous few.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 11:00am, in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors one-hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00am. Burial will take place in Bizzell Grove Memorial Gardens in Pine Level.

Ed is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Tonya Jackson; treasured daughter, Katie Jackson; brother, Rodney Jackson (Susan); brothers-in-law, Jonathan Parker and Jason Parker (Davina); a long list of adored nieces and nephews, Justin Parker, Dillon Boyette, Trent Parker (Gladys), Ansley Parker, DeAnna Parker, Rosie Parker, Chandler Schmidt, Kodi Schmidt, and Lola Schmidt; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Ellie Parker, Finley Boyette, and Fletcher Boyette.
