Smithfield -Dorothy Brown Johnson, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, in the UNC Johnson Health of Smithfield. Born, August 1, 1935, in Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late Barney M. Brown and Ola Mae Brown. She is preceded in death by her husband Thomas H. Johnson. Dorothy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her family and she always took care of them. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, painting and other types of crafts.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 20, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. in Knollwood Memorial Park in Clayton, with pastor Walter Blackmon officiating.

She is survived by her son, Greg Johnson, daughter, Vicki Kennedy and grandson, Tanner Gooch.
