Smithfield - Donald Salvatore Viola, age 78, passed away Monday morning at the Laurels of Forest Glenn in Garner. Born November 2, 1934 in Kings County, NY he was the son of the late Natale and Anna Persico Viola. In addition to his parents, Mr. Viola is preceded in death by his wife, Candida Schiano Viola. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, St. Ann Catholic Church, a past president of the Lion's Club, and was the head of the planning commission of Upper Salford Township, PA.A memorial service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, November 10, 2012 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. just prior to the service. A funeral mass will follow at 2:00 p.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church in Smithfield. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.Surviving are his son, David Viola and wife Kathleen of Collegeville, PA; daughters, Lisa Joseph and husband George of Schwenksville, PA, and Diane McBride and husband Michael of Clayton, NC; brother, Domenico DeSanto of Ciro Marina, Italy; sisters, Grace Favuzzi and husband Nicholas, and sons Robert and Richard all of Staten Island, NY, and Sister Frances Viola of Albany, NY; and grandchildren, Brandon Joseph, Jessica-Lyn Gallo, Stephen McBride, Daniel Viola, Nicole Viola, Christopher McBride, Elizabeth McBride, Philip McBride, and Natalie Viola.
