Zebulon – David Earl Wilder, age 90, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024, in the Raleigh Rehabilitation Center. Born, January 4, 1934, in Johnston County, he was the son of the late Jessie Earl Wilder and Estelle Whitley Wilder. He is preceded in death by his son-in-law, Michael Warren. David attended church at Friendship Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, farmer and a wonderful cook. He took pride in keeping his yard and garden in excellent shape. David also served as chief of Corinth Holders Fire Department at one time. He was a loving husband, father and a wonderful papa. He will be missed by all his loving family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. outside his home of 1336 Antioch Church Road, Zebulon, 27597. David will be laid to rest there on the property.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Mrs. Frances Hill Wilder, daughter, Denise Wilder Warren of Morehead City, sister, Joy Brantley of Apex, granddaughter, Madeleine Grace Warren, God-son, Alton Ray Whitley, adopted great-grandchildren; Gunner David Whitley & Hunter Ray Whitley, as well as special friends, Rose and Danny Whitley.
