SELMA – David Earl Waddell, age 73, died Monday, October 3, 2016 in WakeMed of Raleigh.  Born June 16, 1943 in Roberson County to the late Lee Richmond and Margie Elizabeth West Waddell, he was the widower of Lorie Wilson Waddell, he was preceded in death by two sons, David Earl Waddell, III and James Earl Waddell and a brother, Johnny Waddell.  David enjoyed woodworking and built many pieces of furniture for family and friends.

A memorial service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2016 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with the Rev. Sonny Williams officiating.

Surviving are his son, Lee Waddell of Smithfield; daughter, Jerrie "Sissy" Braswell and husband Buddy of Smithfield; brothers, Buddy Waddell, Hubert Waddell, Jimmy Waddell, Mack Waddell and Tommy Waddell all of Lumberton; sisters, Lib Britt of Laurinburg and Virginia Phillips, Faye Lloyd, Myrtle Norton and Jean Bozeman all of Lumberton; 5 grandsons, 3 granddaughters and 6 great grandchildren.
