David Lawrence Reeder, age 75, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023 at UNC Johnston Health in Smithfield. Born in Cole County, Illinois on November 23, 1947, he was a son to the late Hobert Reeder and Josephine Reeder.

David was a member of Crosspoint Community Church in Clayton. He was a Mason and served as a master in 1983 at the Fellowship Lodge # 84 Masonic Lodge in Smithfield, active in Baptist On Mission, and was an avid camper who was a part of the Raleigh Roadrunners Camping Club. David also served in the United States Army in his earlier years. In his free time, David enjoyed woodworking and was very skilled. He was a kind man who loved serving, giving, and volunteering where needed. David loved his church and his family dearly.

A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, October 23, 2023. The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 P.M. just prior to the service. A private burial will be held at Knollwood Cemetery in Clayton.

David is survived by his son, Scott David Reeder and wife Jennifer of Smithfield; sister, Bonnie R. Cox and husband Norman of Rosewood; brother, George M. Reeder of Smithfield, and granddaughter, Darby S. Reeder of Smithfield.
