David Kevin Long, age 60, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, May 31, 2025. Born on March 21, 1965, in Durham County, he was the beloved son of Barbara Poole and the late Charles Long.

David was a man who embraced life with joy and passion. He loved the outdoors and was an avid gardener, finding peace and fulfillment in tending to his plants. A true enthusiast of racing and motorcycles, David lived life in the fast lane, always up for an adventure. He was a natural handyman who could fix just about anything, and he brought creativity and heart to everything he did—often surrounded by things he loved, especially those adorned with skulls and eagles.

Known for his warm spirit and zest for life, David had a gift for making any moment a celebration. He was a skilled cook and took great pride in preparing meals for his family and friends. His dogs were his constant companions, and he showered them with love and care.

Above all, David cherished his family. His nieces and nephews were the light of his life, and he treasured every moment spent with them.

David is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Long; his mother, Barbara Poole, and her husband, Thomas; his brother, Leonard "Bo" Cooper; and his sister, Chanda Odom and her husband, Donnie. He also leaves behind his beloved nieces and nephews: Christine Daniels, Alexis Fitzpatrick and husband Joseph, DJ Daniels and wife Stacia, Tristan, Sharlee, and Kourtney Cooper, Jade Phillips, Daisy, Delilah, and Sage Fitzpatrick, and Salem and Annie Daniels; Uncle Mike; and father-in-law, Robert Huegel.

David's memory will live on through the countless lives he touched with his kindness, laughter, and unwavering love.
