Danny Russell Parrish, age 80, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at his home on Tuesday, October 20, 2026. Born on July 14, 1946, in Johnston County, he was the son of the late John and Creola Parrish. He was also preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Teddy and Holly Parrish.

Danny was a devoted husband, loving daddy, brother, and proud papa who always put his family first. Known for his playful wit and wonderful sense of humor, he never missed an opportunity to make someone laugh. He was a hardworking, humble, patient, and selfless man whose quiet strength and kind heart touched everyone who knew him.

Danny loved the open road and enjoyed driving whenever he had the chance. A loyal Ford enthusiast, he also had a passion for racing and NASCAR. He loved fishing, whether it was spending a day deep-sea fishing or casting a line from a pier, and treasured the peace and enjoyment it brought him. He found joy in listening to Southern gospel music and was always ready for his next adventure, no matter where life might lead.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. at Bizzell Grove Memory Gardens in Princeton, NC.

Danny is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Virginia Bradford Parrish; his daughters, Scarlet Parrish and Erica Rarick and her husband, Chris; his grandchildren, Jordan and “his namesake,” Ashton Daniel Rarick; his brother, Freddie Parrish and his wife, Ruth; his sisters, Brenda Holloman and her husband, Kenneth, and Teresa Smith and her husband, Ralph; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Danny lived a life that beautifully reflected the message of 1 Corinthians 13, demonstrating patience, kindness, humility, selflessness, and an enduring love for his family and others. His family will forever cherish the love, laughter, and unwavering devotion he shared throughout his life. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know and love him.
