Clayton - Daniel D. Griffin, age 66, died Sunday, November 17, 2019 at his home. Born July 6, 1953 in White Plains, NY he was a son of the late David Wilson and Florence Morse Griffin. Daniel was a member of First Christian Church in Smithfield.

A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 23, 2019 in First Christian Church with Rev. Beth Burton-Williams officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. at the church just prior to the service.

Surviving are his beloved wife, Antoinette Griffin; two sons, Ricardo Caporale of San Diego, CA and Michaelangelo Caporale of San Francisco, CA; and two dogs Chastity and Clover.

Dan's life passion was music. He found endless joy and healing through playing the acoustic, electric, and pedal-steel guitars. His dedication to the art was only surpassed by his love for his band family. Along with Donna and O'Dell Pope, and Jimmy McCauley, The Caroline Southern Charm Band recorded over 1000 songs, played many shows across NC, and delighted and warmed the hearts of all those who listened.
