Claudia Imogene Wilson, 93, of Smithfield, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 19, 2025, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro. Born April 28, 1932, in Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late Eugene O'Neal and Robelia Whitley O'Neal. In addition to her parents, Claudia is preceded in death by her daughter, Dianne Stancil; brothers, Billy Wayne O'Neal, Charles O'Neal, and Bobby O'Neal; and sisters, Mary Creech Andrews, Pearl O'Neal, Shirley Crockett, and Linda O'Neal Williford.

Claudia had a deep love for flowers and gardening, finding joy in watching things grow. She was friendly, positive, and truly never met a stranger. Claudia loved music and singing, and she delighted in dancing, shopping, and always being dressed to the nines. Constantly on the go, she embraced life with energy and enthusiasm, whether working on a DIY project or heading out on her next adventure. Claudia loved life fully, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Claudia is survived by her children, Connie Williford, Angela Rowe (Ken), Adrian Johnson (Tracey) and Ronnie Johnson (Teresa); brother, Lynnwood O'Neal; sister, Carolyn Gower; grandchildren, Cynthia Vetrano, Heath Stancil, Tyler Johnson, Finleigh Johnson, Jason Johnson and Tracy Johnson; several great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

A graveside service will take place on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at 10:00am, at Sunset Memorial Park with Rev. Kristen Tucker officiating. Flowers are welcome.
