Chesley Shovine McGinnis, Jr., 74, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday. Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, Shovine was the cherished son of the late Chesley Shovine McGinnis, Sr. and Madeline Moeller Tyser.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Marcia Weisiger McGinnis; his children, Chesley M. McGinnis (Amy) and Patrick S. McGinnis (Michelle), both of Selma; and his treasured grandchildren, William and Elizabeth.

Chesley also leaves behind his loving sisters: Madeline Young of Laurinburg, Beth Smith of Cherry Grove, Judi Drake of Myrtle Beach, SC, Sherri Yockey of Oak Island, and Tia Branscomb of Taylors, SC.

A dedicated truck parts salesman for over 50 years, Shovine found joy in cooking for his family, traveling, and vacationing at the beach and White Lake, NC. Above all, he treasured the time spent with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
