Charles Alfred Gordon, age 91, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Smithfield Manor Nursing and Rehab Center. Born in Johnston County, on March 11, 1932, he was a son to the late Alfred Gordon and Eula Norris Gordon.

Charles was a member of Wilson's Mills Baptist Church for nearly 40 years. He was a kind man and a hard worker who loved the Lord and serving his church. Charles enjoyed playing Bluegrass and Christian music. He played the banjo, mandolin, and the guitar.

A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home at 2:00pm on Wednesday, December 13, 2023. The family will receive friends just prior to the service from 1-2:00pm. Burial will follow in Selma Memorial Gardens.

In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his wife of over 70 years, Nancy Narron Gordon, son, Wayne Gordon, and brother, Harold Gordon.

Charles is survived by his sister, Eloise Willoughby of Newport News, VA; brother-in-law, Willard Whitley of Clayton, NC; sisters-in-law, Louise Gordon of Smithfield, NC; Frances Johnson of Wilson, NC; and many loving nieces and nephews.
