Smithfield- Charles Jimmy Edwards, age 76, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 15, 2024, in his home of Smithfield. Born, August 1, 1947, in Johnston County, he was a son of the late Charles (Smoky) and Rosa Edwards. He is preceded in death by his step father, Billy Davis, brother, Jeff Davis. Charles was a member of Lee's Union Advent Christian Church for many years. Charles enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, riding the golf cart and playing with his grandkids. He also liked watching sports on tv, Nascar and listening to his favorite radio host, Rush Limbaugh. Most importantly he was a loving husband of almost 56 years, a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his family and all his friends.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, February, 22, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with the burial to follow in Hills Of Neuse Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Baker Edwards, daughters; Kim Edwards of Archer Lodge, Tammy Lee (Rufus) of Four Oaks, Tori Edwards of Smithfield, sister, Sandy Narron of Pine Level, eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren as well as many friends.
