Cathy Powell Creech, age 60, of Smithfield, passed away on January 12, 2019 following a period of declining health.  Born in Johnston County on February 27, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Hugh Braxton and Geraldine Moore Powell.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 19, at 11:00 AM in the First Advent Christian Church in Four Oaks.  A private burial will be in Hills of the Neuse Memory Gardens.

Surviving are her husband, James Randall Creech; son, James Brandon Creech and wife Julie of Garner; daughter, Kelly Amber Lockamy and husband Miguel of Smithfield; brothers, Hugh Braxton Powell, Jr. and wife Anita, Charles Ronald Powell and wife Peggy; seven grandchildren and many loved nieces and nephews.
