Carol Evans Willoughby of Kenly, NC, age 75, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026, at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, North Carolina. Born on March 26, 1950, in Wilson County, she was the daughter of the late Elton Evans and Gladys Edgerton Evans.

Carol enjoyed trips to the beach, eating at El's Drive-In, and going to see Christmas lights, but she was happiest during evening golf cart rides around her farm with her childhood sweetheart and the love of her life, Ralph. She found joy in fishing at their pond with their children and granddaughters, especially when those days ended with the family's fish fry meals. She also held a special place in her heart for her dog, Little Bit, who preceded her in death. Above all, Carol was a devoted wife and a loving mother who cherished her family.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Parrish Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Edgerton Cemetery, located at 3061 Nahunta Road (beside the Nahunta Fire Department).

Carol is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ralph Willoughby; her sons, Stephen Willoughby and Brooks Willoughby, both of the home; her daughter, Jennifer Skinner, and her husband, Marty; and her grandchildren, Caroline Skinner and Cassidy Skinner, all residing at the family farm.
