Smithfield - Bridgitte Edwards Davis, age 65, died Sunday morning, May 12, 2024 at the UNC Johnston Health in Smithfield.  Born November 20, 1958 in Johnston County to the late Melvin Thompson and LaRue Rose Hill Edwards, she was the widow of Robert Wayne Davis who died February 2, 2017.  Like her mother, Bridgitte taught school in Johnston County for almost 30 years.  She enjoyed reading, cooking, collecting shells at the beach and playing with her cat.  Bridgitte was a member of Sanders Chapel United Methodist Church.

The family will receive friends Thursday, May 23, 2024 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Parrish Funeral Home in Selma.  A private graveside service will be conducted at a later date.

Surviving are her son, Hunter Wayne Davis of the home; sister, Melrose Edwards Haas of Smithfield.
