Greenville – Brenda Joyce Wainright Davis, age 83, passed away peacefully on Thursday March 28, 2024, at ECU Medical Center. She was born in Pitt County on March 22, 1941, to the late James Henry Wainright and Ruth Vandiford Wainright. In addition to her father and mother, she is also preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Davis Sr.; brothers, James "Bud" Wainright, Kenneth Wainright; sisters, Betty Jean Stancil Smith, Carolyn Wainright, Judy Harell.

The family will receive visitors on Sunday March 31, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Freedom Baptist Church in Ayden. A funeral service will be conducted on Monday April 1, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Freedom Baptist church. Burial will follow the service on Monday in Ayden Town Cemetery.

She is survived by her son, James "Buddy" Davis Jr. and wife Lois of Bell Arthur; her daughter, Deborah Davis of Greenville; additional son, Brian Harell of Rocky Mount; sisters, Mamie Stokes and husband Jamie of Greenville, Rachel Stocks of Greenville, Jeanette Reason of Robersonville; grandchildren, James Davis and wife Angela of Pine Level, Shannon Outlaw and husband Don of Greenville, Michael Blystone of Sanford, Daniele Blyston of Jacksonville; great grandchildren, James Christopher Davis, Ava Davis, Trinity Cole, Timothy Blystone, Blaine Blystone, Alice Outlaw and Austin Bass.

Brenda was a member at Freedom Baptist Church, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
