Selma – Brenda Faye Neves, age 75, passed away on Saturday, March, 8, 2025, In the SECU Hospice House of Smithfield. Born, June 18, 1949, in Johnston County, she was a daughter of the late Junior Watkins and Ellen Pilkington Watkins. She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry W. Ward, and late husband, John C. Neves Jr. Brenda was a very loving and caring lady. She loved caring for her husband, children and her grandchildren. Brenda worked as a social worker during her career and took the utmost care in her profession. In her spare time, she enjoyed going shopping with her siblings, antiquing, coloring and traveling when she was able. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. Most of all Brenda loved her family and spending time with them.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with the burial to follow in Selma Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.

She is survived by her son, Chris Ward (Melissa) of Selma, brothers; Donald Watkins (Debbie) of Selma, David Watkins (Sue) of Princeton, Rex Watkins of Selma, Jimmy Watkins (Heidi) of Selma, sister, Bonnie Watson (Steve) of Princeton, grandchildren; Leah Ward (Hannah Underwood), Amber Berlind (Griffin), great-grandson, Jace Christopher Berlind, as well as many nieces and nephews.
