Brenda Louise Adams, 76, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro. Born May 11, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Harold Capps and Evelyn Suggs Capps. In addition to her parents, Brenda is preceded in death by her son, Christopher Adams.

Brenda was a loving Christian woman whose kind heart and devotion to her family touched the lives of everyone around her. Her family was the most important part of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with the people she loved. As the oldest of three sisters, Brenda was much more than a big sister. She was a second mom to her sisters, always looking out for them, loving them, and being there when they needed her. Her caring and protective nature was a reflection of the generous heart she carried throughout her life.

Brenda loved the beach and enjoyed pier fishing, where she could spend time outdoors and take in the beauty of the water. She also loved camping and making memories with family and friends. Brenda was an avid sports fan and took great joy in cheering for the teams and athletes she loved. She proudly followed the Atlanta Braves during baseball season, cheered on Duke basketball, and enjoyed watching Ryan Blaney race.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 2:00pm, in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Oakland Heights Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 7:00pm-9:00pm at the funeral home, and at other times at 482 Sand Hill Drive in Goldsboro. Flowers are welcome.

Brenda is survived by her children, Tonya Baldwin (Randall), Michael Adams (Renee), and Roger Adams (Crystal); sisters, Linda Gurkin (Michael) and Teresa Hartley (William); grandchildren, Bryce, Brianna, Dylan, Haley, Bonnie, Nikki, Edy, Brenda, Heather, Kim, and David; and 20 great-grandchildren.
