Braxton Carter Duncan, age 82, died Friday morning, October 27, 2023, in the Clayton Rehabilitation Center.  He was born September 13, 1941 in Johnston County to the late David "Booney" and Viola Parrish Duncan.  Braxton was a former member of the Smithfield Jaycees and Rotary Club and is currently a member of the Lee Chapel Church near Four Oaks.  He was a retired accountant.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 30, 2023 in the Lee's Chapel  Advent Christian Church with the Rev. Rodney Raby officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 just prior to the service.

Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Judy B. Duncan and two sons, Ken C. Ashby and his wife Ann of Raleigh and Kevin J. Ashby and his wife Julie of Pine Level.
