Bobby Ray Scott, age 82, died Monday evening, May 29, 2023 in WakeMed of Raleigh.  Born July 6, 1940 in Johnston County, he was the son of the late James Ray and Eva Mae Hooks Scott.  Bobby was a marble and tile setter by trade.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the Parrish Funeral Home in Selma.  There will be a private burial in the Pilot Mountains City Cemetery at a later date.

Surviving are his wife, Joyce Ann Norris Scott; son, Scotty Scott and wife Rhonda of Selma; daughter, Donna Lewis and husband Billy of Kenly; step-daughters, Teresa Terrell and husband Conrad of Micro, Wanda Lou Rhodes of Dunn and Rhonda Sue Mitchell and husband Cecil of Kenly; sister, Mae Scott Raper of Kenly; four grandchildren, Matthew Narron, Jordan Narron, Jessica Kennedy and husband Hunter and Emily Scott and four great-grandchildren, Landon, Mattison, Max and Porter Narron.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the New Jerusalem Free Will Baptist Church, 1461 Jerusalem Church Road, Kenly, NC  27542.

The family also wishes to that all of their church family and friends for the food, calls, prayers and loving support that they provided during Bobby's declining health.
