Billy Lee Bennett , 87 of Pine Level passed away on February 17, 2025 at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield.  Arrangements are with Parrish Funeral Home of Selma.

Billy was born to parents Ray and Audra Bennett in Sandstone, West Virginia.  He grew up in Shady Springs, West Virginia and joined the Air Force after graduating from high school where he served his country for 8 years.  He met his wife Nettie while stationed at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro.  He retired from Westinghouse in Raleigh after working over 30 years.

Surviving are his son Ronald Bennett (Pam); daughter Kay Bennett Pate (Donnie); brother Kenneth Bennett (Barbara); grandsons Brandon Pate (Megan), Chris Bennett (Isabella), and Dustin Pate (Bailey); great grandchildren Aubrey and Avery Pate, Kylie and Stetson Pate, and Greenly Collins.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nettie Tyner Bennett and parents, Ray and Audra Bennett.  A private burial will be held at Price Cemetery.
