Smithfield – Billie Carol Hayes Stevens, age 77, a beloved; loyal, generous, hardworking wife of Thomas (Tom) Stevens, has gone to join her daughter, Cherri Ann Barton; and her parents, Cecil Shelton and Mary Hinson Stevens, in Heaven. What a wonderful reunion is going on. Billie was successful in her work, marriage, church and bringing a two party system to Johnston County and North Carolina.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 15, 2020 in St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Smithfield. The family will receive friends in Parish Hall following the service. An interment will be held at a later date.

Surviving are her husband, Tom Stevens; daughters, Alicia Stevens Guerrisi and husband Marc of Palmyra, PA and Rebecca Stevens Crawford of Bristol, VA; brothers, Bruce Hayes and wife Marlene of Lancaster, SC and Jerry Hayes and wife Cindy of Lexington, SC; sister, Patricia Belk of Lancaster, SC; and grandchildren, Madison Angle, Abigail Crawford, Morgan Angle, Jack Guerrisi, and Nick Guerrisi.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, in memory of Billie Stevens, 218 S. 2 ^nd Street, Smithfield, NC 27577-4532.
