Selma – Betty Jean Crabtree Fleming, age 91, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday February 20, 2025. She was born in Johnston County on March 23, 1933 to the late Herbert Crabtree and Myrtle Mason Crabtree. In addition to her father and mother, she is also preceded in death by her husband, United States Navy Master Chief Petty Officer Walter Fleming; daughter, Mary Fleming; brother, Kenneth Crabtree; sisters, Helen Reinhart, Geraldine Salmeiri, Shirley O'Neal, and Barbra Ann Curtis;

The family will receive visitors at Thanksgiving Baptist Church on Monday February 24, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held in the church on Monday at 11:00 AM.

Betty Jean is survived by her son, Richard Fleming of Selma; daughter, Linda Fleming of Selma; grandchildren, Scott, and Dwight Fleming; several nieces and nephews.
