SELMA - Betty Barnes Brown, age 95, died Friday afternoon in UNC Johnston Health in Smithfield.  Born June 7, 1923 in Johnston County to the late Benjamin Franklin and Sallie Ann Aycock Barnes, she was the widow of Cleveland Robert Brown, who died in 1976.   She was also preceded in death by a son, William Earl Brown and a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Brown Hall.  She was a member of NARFE chapter # 2107, a Civil Service Club.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2019 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with the Rev. Joseph Ballance officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10 -11, just prior to the service.  She will be buried in the LaFayette Memorial Park in Fayetteville, NC at a later date.

Surviving are her son, Cleveland Joseph Brown; daughter, Sharon Lynn Brown; sister, Doris Barnes Jones and husband Clarence F. Jones of Selma; special niece, Donna Wilson and husband Gary of Selma; nephew Dan Jones and wife Laura of Selma of Selma and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
