Selma- Ann Peele Earp, age 80, died on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at SECU Hospice house in Smithfield. Born in Johnston County on April 2, 1941, she was a daughter to the late Hubert S. Peele and Marjorie Youngblood Peele. Ann was a faithful servant of Faith Baptist Church in Selma for more than 30 years. She was a Sunday school teacher, and served in the WMU women's group. Ann was a farmer for most of her life and was said to be an excellent supervisor. She also served as a substitute teacher, and worked/retired from the U.S. Postal service. In her spare time, Ann was an avid gardener, a caregiver, and enjoyed playing cards. One of her favorite times of the year was the annual 301-yard sale that she loved to participate in. Ann was known to those around her as the sweetest, kindest, most selfless, caring person who loved all of those around her. She loved to help others regardless of her own circumstances.

Funeral services will be conducted in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends the night before the service on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at Parrish Funeral Home from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM. Burial will follow at Knollwood cemetery.

In addition to the formal visitation the family will be gathering at Ann's residence.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Earp; son, John Earp Jr; brother, Jimmy Peele; and sister, Jean Marlow.

Ann is survived by sons, Timothy S. Earp and wife Rose of Micro; Chris Earp and wife Chris of Sims; daughter, Annette Matthews and husband Robbie of Clayton; nephew (adopted son) Eugene Creech and wife Sharron of Dunlap, TN; daughter-in-law, Pamela Earp of Smithfield; 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, several special longtime friends, and many loved nieces and nephews.
