Alvin John DeBats, Jr., age 67, passed away Friday, October 12, 2024. Born in Bay City, Michigan, on March 27, 1957, he was the son of the late Alvin and Della DeBats. Alvin served in the US Army and the Marines. He loved music and playing in his band. He was active in the VFW. Alvin was a very loving husband, father, and grandfather.

A visitation will be held at Parrish Funeral Home on Friday, October 18, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Johnson DeBats; sons, Alvin John DeBats, III (Tricia), Hubbard Chapman (Melissa), Danny DeBats (Star), and Kevin Ellis (Samantha); daughter, Lori Bradley; grandchildren, Joshua, Johnathan, Logan, and Alexys DeBats, Matthew and Andrew Chapman, Colby and Cash DeBats, Michael, Jaidyn, Graden, and Murdoch, several step-grandchildren; sister, Joann Wiedyk.
