Altha Pearl Hamby, age 76, of Forsyth, Georgia passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2024, in UNC Johnston Heath Hospital of Smithfield. Born March 2, 1948, in Columbus, Georgia to the late John Byrd and Ada Byrd. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donnie Hamby, and many brothers and sisters. Pearl enjoyed listening to Country Gold Music, watching her favorite show, Heartland, and dancing. She loved Aganthus plants and the beautiful, purple color they bloomed. Pearl was a devoted and loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother. She adored her dogs, Cooper, Zoe, and Itty, who were also her family.

Pearl is survived by her children: Denine Hitchcock (Mark) of Smithfield; Nicky Hamby (Joann) of Thomaston, Georgia; and Charlene Harmon (Brad) of Forsyth, Georgia; brother Charles Byrd (Brenda) of Eastman, Georgia; sisters Laverne Anthony (Gary) of Butler, Georgia and Frances Nelson of Opelika, Alabama; grandchildren Andrew Hitchcock (Ashley), Colby Hitchcock, Kristen Byous (Brett), Megan Wainwright (Jacob), Chelsey Cargle (Ross), Roxanne Burns (Stephen), Jake Harmon (Kali); 12 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Following her wishes, there will be no public services.
