Alice Faye Parker, 82, of Selma, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 18, 2026.
Born on August 5, 1943, in Greene County, North Carolina, she was the youngest child of Willie and Donnie Lee Parrish. She graduated from Glendale High School in 1961.
Alice spent her career as a computer operator at Eaton Corporation, where she worked for 24 years. She later worked in the medical field at Johnston Diagnostics before retiring. After retirement, she served as a substitute teacher for Johnston County Public Schools for 16 years.
Her favorite times were spent with her family. She loved hosting dinners, birthday parties, and holiday gatherings and always enjoyed having everyone together at her home. She took great pride in preparing meals for her family. Alice also enjoyed supporting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren by attending their extracurricular activities. She joined her family on many vacations, with an Alaskan cruise being her favorite.
Alice was a faithful member of Branch Chapel Free Will Baptist Church since 1979. She served her church faithfully by preparing meals for Vacation Bible School and for bereaved families for more than 30 years. She also enjoyed fellowship with the members of her Adult Bible Class. Always willing to help those in need, Alice found great joy in serving others.
She is survived by her son, Dale Parker (Lisa) of Selma; her daughter, Wendy Casey (Chris) of Wilson's Mills; her grandchildren, Daniel Casey of Clayton, Andrew Casey (Elisabeth) of Rolesville, Parker Casey (Jenny) of Archer Lodge, and Laura Parker of Selma; her great-grandchildren, Bentley Casey and Carver Casey; and her sister, Lois Jones.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Parker; her parents, Willie and Donnie Lee Parrish; and her brothers, Gilbert Parrish and Leslie “Bud” Parrish.
The family will receive friends at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma on Sunday, June 21, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A private graveside service will be held in Selma Memorial Gardens.
Other visitation times at Alice’s home will be Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
