June 25, 1941 - July 29, 2010Smithfield –Shelby Jean Branch, age 69 died Thursday July 29, 2010 at Johnston Medical Center. Born in Johnston County on June 25, 1941 she was the daughter of the late Ekie and Annie Austin Branch. She was a member of Wilson’s Mills Baptist Church, was known as a great prayer warrior, and was special caregiver to children throughout her lifetime.
Funeral services will be held on Monday August 2, 2010 at 6:00pm in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma with Rev. Wayne Phillips, Rev. Billie Lawson, and Rev. Mike McAuley officiating. Family will receive friends following the service. The burial will be at Baptist Center Church Cemetery on Tuesday August 3, 2010 at 10:00am.
Ms. Branch is survived by a sister-in-law, Norma Thompson of Smithfield: Nieces and Nephews, Keith Branch, Lynne Wallace, Beth Marcom, Glennie Branch, Pam McBride, Judy Rains, Wayne Phillips, Joe Phillips, Larry Phillips, and Carolyn Johnson: special friends, Harvie Jean Gower and Ruby Wyatt both of Smithfield: and several great nieces and nephews.
