William Kenneth "Bill" Holt, Jr., age 63, died peacefully Monday afternoon at his home. Born March 21, 1946 in Onslow County to the late William Kenneth and Doris Belle Morris Holt he was the office manager for Prestige Insurance and Financial Services of Fayetteville for the last eight years. A devoted Christian, Bill was a faithful member of the Black's Chapel Methodist Church in Godwin where he served as a lay leader and lay speaker. He also served as a Sunday school teacher for many years. Bill loved his church family and will be greatly missed. He was also a member of the US Army Reserves for several years and the Loins Club International until his illness no longer allowed him to attend.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma with the Rev. Rich Cooper, the Rev. Ken Pritchard, the Rev. Craig Autry and the Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. Burial will follow in the Hephzibah Baptist Church Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Brenda Pittman Holt, brothers, Jeff Holt and wife Sherry of Pine Level, Jim Holt and wife Debbie of Oxford and Bobby Holt and wife Jane of Weldon; mother and father-in-laws Carlee and Joyce Pittman of Pine Level; brother-in-law Ray Pittman of Little Chute WI and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Black's Chapel United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, P. O. Box 235, Godwin, NC 28344.
