Donald Ray Johnson
March 03, 2010Donald Ray Johnson, age 72, of Old Dam Road near Selma, died on Tuesday, March 2, 2010. Born in Johnston County on January 30, 1938, he was the son of the late Ellie Clare and Esther House Johnson. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Godwin Johnson. He was a member of the Bethany Fire Department.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma. Burial with Fire Honors will be in Selma Memorial Gardens.
Surviving are: his wife, Ella Johnson; son, Mike Johnson of Kenly; daughters, Jo Murray of Kenly, Rose Whitley of Zebulon, and Pat Parrish of Selma; step-son, Bruce Wade of Selma; step-daughter, Janet Joyner of Lucama; brother, Junior Johnson of Kenly; sister, Sandra Tant of Zebulon; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, and five step great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday night from 7 to 9 PM.
