Javis Linwood Creech
March 03, 2010Selma - Javis Linwood Creech, age 78, died on Wednesday, March 3, 2010. Linwood was born October 29, 1931 in Johnston County to Allie Stallings Creech and Bud K. Creech. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth Creech and Harold Creech, his half brother, Willie Ivey Creech, his half-sisters, Eunice Blackmon and Lillian Creech.
Linwood's great love was his family. He also worked in construction with his brother, Kenneth and his son, Dennis. Linwood retired from Electric Supply. Linwood was a member of Branch Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.
The funeral will be held Friday at 11:00 AM at Branch Chapel Free Will Baptist Church with burial following in the Church Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Faye Pittman Creech of Selma; son, Javis Dennis Creech and wife Connie of Selma; daughter, Phyllis C. Arp and husband Odis of Jacksonville; sister, Rose Harvey and husband Michael of Selma; sister, Janice Bryant of Selma; 3 grandchildren, Jennifer Creech and husband Robert of Selma; Shane Hicks and wife Julie of Whitakers; Gara Johnson of Selma; 4 great grandchildren; Cloie, Alex, Elizabeth Hicks of Whitakers and Lara Johnson of Selma.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM Thursday at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma.
