Pearl Aycock Wells
February 26, 2010Selma - Pearl Aycock Wells, age 86, died Friday in Johnston Medical Center. Born February 18, 1924 in Johnston County to the late Thomas "Tom" and Lala Edwards Aycock, she was the widow of David S. Wells who died January 28, 1995. She was preceded in death by a daughter Eunice Winstead and a sister Agnes Batten. Pearl was a member of Hephzibah Baptist Church the Pine Level American Legion and a former member of the VFW.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday in the Aycock Cemetery with the Elder Harold Pittman and the Elder Bobby Daughtry officiating.
Surviving are her daughters, Elaine Littleton of Pine Level and Brenda Pittman and husband Larry of Selma; son-in-law, Gary Winstead of Smithfield; brother, Thomas Aycock of Selma; sisters, Blanche House of Selma, Mary Ellis of Pine Level, Edith Pittman of Kenly, Margie Daughtry and husband Randall of Princeton and Harlene Sasser of Pinkney; four grandchildren, Michelle Meserve and husband Scott and Patricia Pipkin and husband Mickey Ray all of Selma, Jonathan Littleton and wife Beverly of Pine Level and Michael Pittman and wife Heidi of Corinth, VT, ten great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service and at other times at the home of her daughter Brenda Pittman 530 Hinnant Road Selma.
