Martha Bryant Lassiter McLamb
February 25, 2010Martha Bryant Lassiter McLamb, age 87, of Smithfield, died Thursday, February 25, 2010. Born in Johnston County on May 4, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Sydney McCoy and Tomesia Woodall Bryant. Mrs. McLamb was a member of Hephzibah Baptist Church for most of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Zack Eriah Lassiter and her daughters, Martha Rozella Herring and Gayle Lassiter Jackson.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 6:00 PM in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma with Rev. Mike Walls and Rev. George Arant officiating. Burial will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday in the cemetery at Hephzibah Baptist Church near Princeton.
Surviving are: four daughters, Shirley Edwards of Pleasant Hill, Brenda Gooding of Selma, Joyce Dawson of Kenly and Jackie Kyle of Washington; a sister, Pearl Wood of Clayton; twelve grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service.
